A. You didn’t mention how old you are. If you have reached your minimum retirement age, you could retire under the MRA+10 provision. However, your annuity would be reduced by 5 percent for every year you were under age 60.

If I have 12 years with the competitive service and approximately 2.5 years from MRA plus 10. If I move to excepted service, what happens to my retirement benefits if the excepted service position goes away or I no longer employed before my MRA. Also what are the benefits of moving to excepted service or staying with competitive service. Is it possible for an agency to post a job for excepted service when they have Identical positions with the employees as competitive service.
