Q. I will have 30 years of service in October 2018, but I will only be 55 years old as of Aug. 29, 2018. I am so ready to retire — with the stress of the U.S. Postal Service and my family stresses, I cant endure another year of service. Can I retire in October 2018?

Q. I am under FERS disability retirement with 23 years of service at age 49. I was told by the Office of Personnel Management that at age 62, my 23 years would be bumped up to 32 years — the difference between when I left and when I turn 62. So would it bump up my FERS retirement at age 62? Is this correct that it would be reconfigured at a higher annuity?

Q. I have 10 years in FERS, and I’m 60. I am being offered a Voluntary Separation Incentive Payment in August. I turn 61 in October. It is my understanding that my annuity be reduced by 5 percent for each year I’m under 62. Since I am turning 61 in October, will they only reduce my annuity by 5 percent instead of 10 percent? Lastly, when I turn 62, will my annuity reduction stop and go back to what I would have received at the age of 62?

Q. If you end up with 12½ months of sick leave, and 20 years and six-and-a-half months of service, would your retirement be based on 21 years, seven months, or would you lose the half month of sick leave and half month of service, and therefore use 21 years and six months to compute your retirement?
