Retirement eligibility

Q. I have 32 years of service in the Postal Service. I resigned in 2009 at the age of 52 with the stipulation I would collect my retirement at the age of 55. I’m under CSRS. I looked at my paperwork and it is showing retire at age 62. Can I receive my retirement when I turn 55 next month?

A. What you saw in your paperwork is correct. You won’t be eligible for a deferred annuity until you reach age 62.
