Deferred FERS annuity

0

Q. I am a FERS employee.  If I were to retire at or after my MRA with 30+ years,  for example at age 59 with 32 years,  and deferred my annuity to age 62 or higher, would the deferred annuity be calculated with the 1.1 multiplier?

A. According to OPM, if you are eligible to retire and have at least 20 years of service, you can resign, postpone the receipt of your annuity until age 62, and have it computed using the .011 multiplier.
