Q. I have 22 years of military service and 15 years in FERS. I’ll be 60 years old in May. Can I be credited for both military and FERS?
A. You can only receive credit for your active-duty service if you make a deposit for that time to the civilian retirement system, plus accrued interest. Further, if you are receiving military retired pay, you’d have to waive that pay when you retire.
