Buying back military time

0

Q: I did served years and three months of active duty with the Coast Guard and then I enlisted in the Coast Guard Reserves. I am also employed with the federal government. Since I am still in the military, do I need to buy back my time? I plan on doing 20 years with the Coast Guard as well.

A: Yes, you do if you want to get any credit for it. And the sooner you make the deposit, the less you’ll have to pay in interest.
