Q. The Postal Service in my installation is transferring all mail to another installation more than 50 miles away. This will affect more than 80 percent of the workforce, including myself. I am a clerk, not a carrier. They may offer me a clerk position less than 40 hours, or a carrier position, which is a different craft. I am a career employee. Would it be possible for me to retire with a unreduced annuity and the special retirement supplement? I am in FERS with over 27 years at age 59.
