Voluntary contribution and nonfederal job

0

Q. I am 52 years old with 14 years of federal service. I resigned because I needed to take care of my parents in another city and could not apply for a job in this city that I qualify for. I have found an opportunity to work for a private company that manages federal lands. Can I apply for voluntary contribution to my federal retirement while I work for a private company that manages federal land? I intend to continue to my federal retirement in any way until I can be re-employed by a federal agency.
