First retirement check and SRS

0

Q. I recently retired from the Postal Service under the incentive offer for clerks. I’m 56 years old with 26 years of service. My last day was Jan. 31. I haven’t received my first check yet. Does it usually take this long? If so, when can I expect to receive it? Also, would the special retirement supplement be in the same check or a different check?

A. Only the Office of Personnel Management can answer your question. As for the special retirement supplement, you won’t receive that until your annuity is finalized. It will be included in your regular annuity payment.
