VERA vs. VSIP

0

 Q. I am 62 with 26 years in. I have been offered Voluntary Early Retirement Authority or Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay. If I take VSIP, when could I retire, so I can get my retirement annuities and Thrift Savings Plan?

A. I’ve never heard of an agency offering a VERA OR a VSIP. Usually, a VERA is offered to a wider range of positions and the VSIP to a narrower one. Anyhow, since you already meet the age and service requirements (age 62 with at least five years of service), you can accept the VSIP and retire.
