VSIP or VERA?

Q. I am CSRS, age 55 with 30 years as of Nov. 18. I have been offered the Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay/Voluntary Early Retirement Authority to be out by Jan. 4, 2014. Which am I actually taking? The VSIP or the VERA?

A. You are accepting both. The VSIP provides you with a buyout; the VSIP entitles you to early retirement.
