VERA

Q. I am an information technology specialist. Is it possible to be offered Voluntary Early Retirement Authority at age 47 and 28 years? If not, why not? Can you request VERA, or do you have to wait for it to be offered?

A. You have to wait for a VERA to be offered. If one was offered to you, you could accept it, because any employee with at least 25 years of service can retire regardless of his age.
