Q. I was hired in September 1982 and, in 1986, started to pay into FERS. Is it possible that I could be in the wrong pension plan? Can anything be done to correct this issue?
A. Because you didn’t have five years of CSRS service as of Dec. 31, 1986, you were correctly placed in FERS.
