Annual leave payouts

Q. I am retiring as a GS employee. I have 240 hours of annual leave, and I have been on the night shift for one month. Will I be credit for the night differential for the full 240 hrs?

A. Night shift differentials aren’t considered to be a part of basic pay for any reason. Therefore, your lump sum payment for unused annual leave won’t be increased by that one month of night shift pay.
