Vision and dental coverage in retirement

0

Q. I know that to carry FEHBP into retirement, you must be enrolled for five years before retirement. Does the same apply to supplemental vision and dental care, or can they be added before retirement within the five-year period?

A: Since you are paying the entire cost of coverage out of your own pocket, you only need to be enrolled in the vision and dental program when you retire to carry that coverage into retirement.
