so, by reading this. can I assume that there is NO benefit to delay collecting social security after age 62 if I collect the suppliment?
Most FERS retirees who are receiving the special retirement supplement elect to apply for Social Security at age 62 to avoid the drop in income.
My understanding from talking to Social Security is that your SS income will be based on the year you retired not the amount if you had worked until age 62.
