A. Yes, your annuity would continue. However, the salary of your new position would be reduced by the amount of your annuity. While the U.S. Postal Service is an independent agency of the federal government, all its employees are covered by the same retirement system as other government agencies.

I’m under CSRS Offset, 60 years old with 26 years of federal service.
I’m planning to retire on January 2018. If I got a suspension for a week or two this September, does it effect my retirement benefits?

Hi, I worked for the postal service for 29 years and is a military veteran who made a mistake in writing the wrong resignation date on PS form 2574. I tried cancelling my resignation and would like to be reinstated. What can I do ?
Other than asking your agency to rehire you, there’s nothing you can do.
Why would you resign after 29 years?? You will lose your health benefits and never be able to get them back. You should retire, not resign. Contact Shared Services immediately.
