CETA and creditable service

0

Q. I was employed for three summers by the Comprehensive Employment and Training Act program. I held a regular staff position and helped run the program. I was not a participant in the program. Does this time count as civilian service toward my FERS retirement?

A. While I can find no evidence that it does, to be sure, you should ask your personnel office to check with the Office of Personnel Management, which has the final authority when it comes to crediting service for retirement purposes.
