6(c) time, non-6(c) time and retirement

Q. Can I retire with 23 years of 6(c) time and two years of non-6(c) time (25 years’ service total) and be under 50? Is it required that all 25 years under age 50 be 6(c) time to qualify? I understand that at age 50 I will be eligible, but I was wondering if it might be earlier.

A. No. All 25 years must be in a covered position.
