Seasonal employee

Q. My husband is a 35-year employee of the Forest Service. He is considering retirement and, after retirement, would like to apply for seasonal jobs at the National Park Service. Are retirees eligible to apply for seasonal jobs at other agencies?

A. Anyone can apply for a seasonal job. However, he’ll need to check beforehand to find out if the salary of his seasonal position would be offset by the amount of his annuity. If it would, he might be working for nothing.
