Q. I am employed at a special salary rate and may be medically disqualified from my position. Can I be forced to take a position at the same paygrade which would result in a very significant loss of pay? Is my current salary guaranteed if I am forced to accept another position?
A. You can be offered a position at the same grade. Whether you accept it or not is up to you. Regardless, you wouldn’t be entitled to continue receiving any pay that you were receiving solely because you were occupying a position you are no longer qualified to hold.
