SRS eligibility

Q. If I retire with 28 years of service at age 53, would I be eligible for the special retirement supplement. Where would I find info?

A. If you are referring to an immediate retirement, you don’t have the age and service needed to do that. However, if your agency were to offer you an opportunity to retire early, you’d be eligible for the special retirement supplement when you reached your minimum retirement age. In your case, that’s 56.
