Switching health insurance coverage

0

Q. I recently changed my coverage in Federal Employees Health Benefits (Aetna) and found that the total coverage eliminated my retirement annuity, except for $19. Is there a way to change that back to my original health insurance coverage?

A. I reviewed the Office of Personnel Management’s list of permissible changes to FEHB enrollment and couldn’t find any basis for your switching plans other than during the next open season. To be sure, you could call OPM’s Retirement Information Center and ask a specialist if there is any possibility of doing that now.
