CSRS Offset

Q. I am a recently retired federal employee (Postal Service) who was covered under CSRS Offset. I have been receiving both CSRS benefits and Social Security. How long may I expect the CSRS benefits to be paid to me?

A. As a CSRS Offset employee, your CSRS annuity should have been reduced by the amount of Social Security benefit you earned while a CSRS Offset employee. Your remaining CSRS annuity and your Social Security benefit will continue until you die. Note: If you have earnings from wages or self-employment that exceed the annual limit before you reach full Social Security retirement age, your Social Security benefit would be reduced or suspended.
