Social Security benefits for military service

0

Q. How could I find out if I am getting military benefits from Social Security? I was in the military from 1960 through 1964 and began receiving Social Security benefits in 2004.

A. Social Security benefits are based on all Social Security-covered employment. Since members of the military have had Social Security deductions taken from their pay since January 1, 1957, your years of service would be included in your Social Security payments.
