Resignation vs. retirement

Q. I am a retired annuitant, and I will be retiring for the second time. Does this constitute a retirement or a resignation? I have worked for six years, and I have been receiving my full benefits without an offset. Am I eligible for a recomputation of years of service?

A. Because you received your annuity and the full salary of your position, you aren’t eligible for a recomputation of your annuity. For that reason, you will be resigning, not retiring.
