VERA offer

Q. I always thought that when you’re offered a VERA/VSIP bonus, it only applies to people that don’t have the years and age. What if I have both age and years? Will I still be offered the VERA?

A. The Voluntary Early Retirement Authority is designed to increase the number of employees who can retire by lowering the age and service requirements. Anyone who is already eligible to retire may do so, whether or not they are included in a VERA offer made to employees. The Voluntary Separation Incentive Payment is different. It is a targeted incentive, usually offered selectively and designed to encourage employees to leave, whether or not they are eligible to retire.
