Suspending FEHB

0

Q. How and when can I suspend my Federal Employees Health Benefits coverage?

A. There are two ways you can suspend your FEHB coverage. First, if you are an annuitant or a former spouse, you can suspend your FEHB coverage to use TRICARE or CHAMPVA. Second, if you are covered by Medicare, you can suspend your FEHB coverage to enroll in a Medicare managed care plan.  In either case, you can reenroll in the FEHB program if you later lose or cancel that coverage. However, if you voluntarily cancel your coverage, you’ll have to wait until the next Open Season to reenroll.
