A. If your husband is a current or retired federal employee, the two of you can elect Self Only coverage during any open season.

I was told if you leave now and collect retirement later, as a fees employee you loose the health insurance for you and your husband you cannot get it
Yes, that’s true if you leave government before you are eligible to retire.
