Q. I was terminated from the U.S. Postal Service under FERS after 20 years of employment at the age of 45 (birth year 1965). At what age am I eligible to receive my pension benefits? Also, how do I calculate how much I will receive?

A. Assuming that you didn’t ask for a refund of your retirement contributions when you left, you’d be eligible for an annuity at age 60. To figure out how much your annuity would be, use the following formula:
.01 X your high-3 on the day you left X your years and full months of service
