Retirement eligibility

0

Q. I am a Veterans Affairs Department employee. I am 70 years old. I have six years service (including four years of bought-back military service). Am I eligible to retire?

A. No. To be eligible to retire, you must have five years of actual civilian service. Military service for which you’ve made a deposit can’t be used to meet that requirement.
