Using leave on the day you retire

0

Q. Do you have to be at work the day you retire or can you charge annual leave or sick leave?

A. There isn’t any governmentwide rule that says you can’t. You’ll have to be guided by your agency’s rules. However, while you can request annual leave, you can’t use sick leave unless your reason for taking it meets the requirements in law and regulation.
