Annuity calculation

Q. I am a FERS employee and retired military. I have bought back my military time (22 years and one month), and am getting concurrent retirement and disability pay). When it comes to retirement, do I waive my CRDP or is it something else? I also get Veterans Affairs Department disability pay.

When you retire with MRA+30, is you formula always 1 percent x years of service or does it change when you hit 62 (1.1 percent x years of service as your retirement amount)?

A. You would have to waive your military retired pay but not your VA disability pay. If you retire before age 62, the standard .01 multiplier would be used to calculate your annuity. If you retire at or after age 62, the multiplier would be .011.
