Law enforcement and early retirement eligibility

0

Q. I am a federal law enforcement officer with 6(c) retirement under FERS. Are law enforcement officers with 6(c) retirement eligible for early outs earlier than 25 years at any age or 50 years of age with 20 years of service? If so, what are the requirements?

A. You can accept an offer to retire early. However, if you haven’t met the age and service requirements to receive an annuity based on the enhanced law enforcement formula, your annuity will be computed as if you were a regular retiree.
