Q. Can you retire at 60 years old under FERS and is there any gap money from Social Security that you receive between the ages of 60 and 62?

A. If you have at least 20 year of service, you can retire at age 60. If you do, you would be entitled to the special retirement supplement until you reach age 62 and are eligible for a Social Security benefit.
