Early-out and rescinding retirement

0

Q. I am under FERS. I would be eligible for retirement if an early-out is offered with at least 25 years of service (I have 27½). I would like to go now and would prefer to do so under an early-out offer so that my retirement will start right away instead of having to take a deferred retirement. If I get a job offer before the early-out comes, once I sign the final papers and retire, then an early-out is offered a month or so later, is there a window that I may rescind my retirement to be included in the early-out?

A. No, you couldn’t rescind your retirement.
