Service computation date

Q. I am trying to determine when my service computation date for retirement is. I am a Department of the Army employee, and I bought back six years and nine months of active-duty military time.

My SCD for leave is Feb. 18, 1996

My SCD for reduction in force is Feb. 18, 1996

My SCD for total civilian service is Dec. 1, 2002

My SCD for Thrift Savings Plan is Dec. 1, 2002

A. Because you made a deposit for your active-duty service, your SCD for retirement is the same as the one for leave and RIF. The other date represents the start of your federal civilian career.
