Rehire as temporary

0

Q. I’m a CSRS annuitant who retired from the Veterans Affairs Department in 2009. I have a chance to be rehired at the same position but as a temporary not to exceed two years. Will this affect my annuity?

A. In all likelihood, the salary of your new position will be offset by the amount of your annuity. If you work full time between one and five years, when you leave that position, you’ll be entitled to a supplemental annuity.
