Leave without pay

0

Q. Must you use all of your annual and sick leave before going on leave without pay?

A. There is no legal or regulatory requirement that an employee do that. However, in most instances, granting LWOP is a matter of supervisory discretion and may be limited by agency internal policy. You’ll have to check with your agency’s personnel office to find out what its rules are.
