Medicare Part D

Q. I am covered under my husbands BCBS policy. I am turning 65 and have signed up for Medicare Part A. Will my prescription plan with Blue Cross be okay, or am I required to sign up for Medicare Part D?

A. You aren’t required to sign up for Medicare Part D, and very few people enrolled in an FEHB plan do so voluntarily.

    • Because this is a site for federal employees and retirees, we don’t know what would happen to your BCBS coverage when you become eligible for Medicare. You’ll have to check with your former employer.
