Q. I was a federal law enforcement officer who retired on disability. When I turn 62 years old, will my disability retirement years be computed using the enhanced formula for LEO?
A. Yes, at age 62 your disability annuity will be converted to a regular annuity. Twenty years of service (actual and disability) will be computed using the enhanced 1.7 percent multiplier, the remainder at 1 percent. Your annuity will also be increased by any COLAs payable from the date you went on disability retirement to the date your regular annuity begins.

I retired on a disability from a law enforcement position at the age of 47, I always thought that I would be able to get the Supplemental income at the age of 57 until 62, but OPM said No!

Yes, it is.
I retired on Disability with 17yrs of Law Enforcement, I had to request a review of my service time, for 17yrs enhanced pay. Now I just turned age 62 and again Opm recalculated my annuity leaving out the Enhanced Law Enforcement calculation of 1.7% for the first 20yrs resulting in approx $500 less per month.
So If you have years in Federal Law Enforce, double-check the numbers.
