Affordable Care Act and retirees' FEHB

0

Q. How will Obamacare affect federal retirees’ insurance coverage, premiums, etc.?

A. All Federal Employees Health Benefits plans qualify as providing “minimal essential coverage” for anyone who is personally enrolled in or covered under a family, spouse equity or temporary continuation of coverage enrollment. Therefore, there will be no effect on anyone enrolled in or covered by an FEHB plan.

However, just as is true every year, we won’t know what the premiums will be for each plan until they are announced at the beginning of the open season.
