Early retirement eligibility

0

Q. I will be 56 in January 2014 with over 20 years of federal service (included military time bought back). Am I eligible for early retirement? Approximately how much will I be getting monthly?

A. You would be eligible if you met the age and service requirements: at your minimum retirement age with 20 years of service. Your MRA is 56. However, you won’t be going anywhere unless your agency:

1) requests and is approved to offer early retirements; and

2) your position is covered by the authority.
