Retirement date

Q. I have 13 years of military service and I am 38 years old. I am about to become a federal employee. When can a retire at the earliest?

A. If you make a deposit to get credit for your active-duty service, you could retire on a full, unreduced annuity when you reach your minimum retirement age, which is 57.
