Q. I am a disabled veteran with seven years of federal service. My duties at my job are making my disabilities (70 percent from Veterans Affairs) worse. I’m going to ask for accommodations soon. If they cannot accommodate me, then I think they must reclassify my job, right? If they can’t reclassify me, do I get to medically retire? I work for the Defense Logistics Agency.

Q. I am a FERS employee and retired military. I have bought back my military time (22 years and one month), and am getting concurrent retirement and disability pay). When it comes to retirement, do I waive my CRDP or is it something else? I also get Veterans Affairs Department disability pay. When you retire with MRA+30, is you formula always 1 percent x years of service or does it change when you hit 62 (1.1 percent x years of service as your retirement amount)?

Q. I took the Voluntary Early Retirement Authority in July 2012 under FERS because of health reasons. I had 24.9 years and I get the special retirement supplement. Since then, I was awarded disability benefits from the Social Security office with benefits beginning Jan 1, 2013. Since I did not retire under FERS disability with the Postal Service, do I still get to draw the supplement with my annuity along with my Social Security disability?

Q. I am 43 and recently was retired on FERS disability from federal service due to multiple sclerosis. I know that a person can’t make over 80 percent of their base pay and not have their retirement suspended. I have three questions: 1. When they say base pay, is that just the general base pay for everyone, or does that include the locality pay? I’m in San Francisco. 2. If I’m able to be re-employed (nonfederal) and exceed the 80 percent threshold from this point forward, will I be able to get my federal retirement at age 62? 3. If…

Q. I am a dual status military technician in the National Guard. In March, I was deemed medically unable to maintain membership in the Guard, and retired militarily. Because I was disqualified from service, I submitted my packet to the Office of Personnel Management requesting disability retirement. I was denied, of course, because my condition was not workers’ compensation-related. On June 26, I received that notification and was informed that my packet was now under review for a “special provisions” disability retirement.  That letter also stated it would take two to six months before a decision was made. Six days…

Q. I was injured on the job May 15. Due to injuries I sustained from a car accident in December, my doctors on June 7 deemed me indefinitely unable to return to work in the title that I’m employed in. My workers’ compensation case was accepted June 23. Can I apply for disability retirement for the car accident injury while out on workers’ compensation?
