Q. I am retired military and became a government employee (GS9) on Nov. 1, 2010, under FERS. I did not return my military retirement into the FERS system. I will be 62 in July 2016, but I would like to retire at the end of May 2016. I think that my My MRA is 55, and as of now, I have over five years of service. I believe that I am eligible under the 62 years/ five years service retirement. How much will I lose by retiring at the end of May versus staying until July 9.

Q. I am 52 years old with 28 years of service and am starting FERS disability retirement. The letter from OPM says that if I am found medically recovered I will be converted to a discontinued service retirement. I am eligible because a discontinued service retirement is age 50 with 20 years or 25 years at any age to qualify. If found medically recovered and converted to a discontinued service retirement with age 53/28 years of service would I also get the FERS special supplement?
Q. Is the Retiree Annuity Supplement the same as the Special Retirement Supplement? I retired with 30.8 years of federal service and was over the MRA and received my first estimated annuity payment this month. I have to conclude that the supplement wasn’t included in the estimated annuity payment. According to one post for the Special Retirement Supplement, it won’t be included until the annuity has been finalized. Even though it isn’t being paid, has it been estimated and subtracted from the estimated annuity payment I am currently receiving?

Q. I have been retired since Dec. 26, 2014. Since retiring I filed for disability and have just received it. I’d like to know what the breakdown is in pay I’ll be receiving. Social Security disability has already given me an amount and I’m 58 years old. I’m in FERS and have been receiving a check every month for my retirement. The amount I was given from Social Security disability is more, but does this include my supplements? Also, will I have to pay my life insurance and health insurance, or is it included in the amount quoted every month by disability?
Q. I am a CBP officer; I joined in 1989 at 28 years old. Prior to this I was in the Air Force for 8 years, 5 months. I am under the FERS retirement program. In 2008 my position became a covered LEO position. I plan to retire in 2019. But since I have bought back my military time, could I retire at MRA and collect my full annuity and the OPM supplement as an LEO?
