Q. I am a FERS employee and plan to retire Jan. 11, 2014. Since the leave year ends on the 11th, I know I will be paid for the 240 hours of carryover leave I have. I currently also have 178 hours of use-or-lose leave. If I don’t use any more use-or-lose leave, will I get paid for the 178 hours in addition to the 240?
