Q. I will be 60 years of age in December 2018 with 17 years of service with the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. I have signed a Declination of Unreasonable Offer since the position will be outside commuting area, so I will be involuntarily separated. Do I qualify for severance pay and, if so, can I postpone FERS retirement for two years to receive FEHB? Are both events possible?

Q. My husband is deceased and left me with a survivor annuity. He was a Civil Service Retirement System employee with 42-plus years. I retired at 52 with my own FERS service. When I turned 62 they discontinued my FERS Annuity Supplement. I am planning on starting my Social Security soon. Will I continue to receive his CSRS survivor annuity and my own FERS annuity along with my Social Security? I was told by a friend that I could not have all three. Is this true?

Q. I was active duty from 1984 to 1992, then employed by the Department of Justice in 1993 until 2016. (I bought back my military active service and had it applied toward my Office of Personnel Management retirement.) In 2001 I joined the National Guard. Currently, my commander wants to place me on Active Guard Reserve orders. Is this authorized? I called OPM and they said yes, but the National Guard needs proof. Can you direct me to the policy?

Q. I am a FERS disability retiree who will have my annuity recalculated in September 2019 when I turn 62. What is the formula I have to use to calculate my regular retirement? Do I add the years I been an annuitant (14 years 10 months) plus the years (25 years 9 months) that I had when I retire? What about the sick leave that I read about that can be added to my retirement?
